This comprehensive programme aims to provide professionals in the Healthcare, Counselling, Pregnancy and Parenting fields with valuable insights into the concept of Pregnancy Bonding, its significance for expectant mothers, fathers, and the overall wellbeing of babies and families.

This knowledge is then expanded into a series of parent and baby focused practical outputs, each designed to deliver on specific aspects of the Pregnancy Bonding Programme’s curriculum.

By understanding the importance of Pregnancy Bonding and exploring effective strategies to enhance the parent-child relationship during pregnancy, professionals can empower and support individuals and families on their journey to parenthood.

The knowledge base and insights provided by the Pregnancy Bonding Programme can be used by professionals in their day to day service provision to embed best practice for Pregnancy Bonding and Attachment within their existing workflows and wider outputs.

In addition, professionals undertaking this programme are presented with the flexibility of a series of parent classes or sessions which they can deliver to their community of mums and dads. These parent sessions map practical approaches for achieving Pregnancy Bonding into a series of 2, 5, 8 or 12 parent facing classes that can be delivered from Trimester 1 through to Trimester 3 in individualised One-To-One sessions or with groups of mums and dads.

Pregnancy Bonding

The Pregnancy Bonding Programme equips professionals to become Pregnancy Bonding Accredited Coaches (PBAC’s) with the necessary knowledge, strategies, and insights to facilitate and enhance prenatal bonding experiences, promoting the well-being and positive development of both parents and babies.

A Flexible Approach

This programme has been designed as a flexible workforce development tool.  It recognises the variety of professional roles that play a part in the Pregnancy Journey and that different roles will have different capabilities and time available to deliver support.

Ease of Implementation

Our programme offers the knowledge, collateral and resources to fully support antenatal professionals in delivering tailored stand alone Pregnancy Bonding sessions or to easily incorporate the principles of Pregnancy Bonding into their existing skills, knowledge, roles and workflows.

To reflect the flexibility of the programme, Pregnancy Bonding Accredited Coaches will be fully equipped to deliver Pregnancy Bonding support in a variety of ways. Tailored contact sessions can be delivered on a One-To-One basis or in groups over a number of different course durations as outlined below. Alternatively, professionals can easily incorporate the principles into their existing roles and workflows.

Mini Course

Delivered over 2 contact sessions in trimesters 1 & 2, the Mini Course offers a basic introduction to Pregnancy Bonding for parents introducing the principles of achieving a positive nurturing environment and communicating with baby.

Short Course

Delivered over 5 contact session in trimesters 1 & 2, the Short Course offers more detailed support and practical approaches to enable parents to achieve a positive nurturing environment and to begin to forge a positive relationship with baby before birth.

Full Course

Delivered over 8 sessions in trimesters 1 & 2, the full course takes parents through a comprehensive programme of Pregnancy Bonding understanding and appreciation. It builds on the Short Course, leading parents through sessions that empower them to embrace the pregnancy journey, building relationships with each other and with baby.

Extended Course

Delivered over 12 session covering trimesters 1, 2 & 3, the Extended Course follows the full course curriculum with the addition of 4 extra classes in trimester 3 designed to cement the pregnancy bonding journey and ensure a smooth transition to parenthood.
